I'm a journalist and photographer in the Big Apple, where I work as the Editor of Park Slope Patch, a hyperlocal news website owned by AOL.

Before heading up Park Slope Patch, I worked as an editor in New Delhi at The Caravan magazine, a bi-monthly Indian journal of politics and culture (www.caravanmagazine.in). From the subcontinent, I have covered the Bombay terrorist attacks, profiled one of the most important figures of India's gay rights movement and trekked to India's export hubs to report the effects of the global recession.

My work has appeared in The New York Daily News, amNew York, New York Press, The Brooklyn Paper, The Villager, Chelsea Now, Curve magazine and Instinct magazine. I have literally covered anything and everything -- from food and fashion to crime and politics -- though women's issues, LGBT affairs and religion are my areas of particular interest and expertise.

In May 2008 I graduated from New York University with a B.A. in Journalism and Middle Eastern Studies. During my travels (to all seven continents) and studies I've picked up Arabic and Latin, as well as some Hindi, Wolof and Spanish in addition to my mother tongue (English).
